The Pantry is dedicated to the development and presentation of new plays by emerging playwrights and theatre makers, co-led by Anne Ciarlone and Brian Reager. We seek to provide a platform and resources to writers who are in the early stages of their career, a point in a playwright's timeline that seems to carry few opportunities for visibility and aide. We have devoloped by playwrights such as Jacob Presson, Monica Trausch, Michael Perrie, Molly Jones, Ian Campbell, Ran Xia, Patrick Vermillion, and Graham Techler.
In addition, The Pantry is dedicated to producing theatre for a cause. We produce benefit performances of existing plays to raise funds for charities that deal primarily with social and human rights issues. In our 2016-inaugural season, Anne Ciarlone directed a one-night-only benefit performance of Ruby Rae Spiegel's Dry Land, which benefited Planned Parenthood.
